Singapore's Fourth Universal Periodic Review, Geneva, Switzerland, 6 April 2026.
Singapore’s 4th Universal Periodic Review (UPR) will take place at the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland, on 12 May 2026. The UPR is a State-driven process in which each UN Member State is given the opportunity to review the human rights situation in other UN Member States approximately once every five years. Minister of State in the Ministry of Health and in the Ministry of Digital Development and Information Rahayu Mahzam will lead Singapore’s delegation to the UPR.
Singapore submitted its National Report in January 2026 for the upcoming review. The Report takes stock of the human rights situation in Singapore and outlines the progress made on the implementation of the recommendations Singapore accepted during our last UPR in 2021. The report also highlights the various policy initiatives we have introduced since then, as part of our commitment to building a more inclusive, cohesive, and resilient society. In preparation for this UPR, the Singapore Government has engaged a broad spectrum of civil society organisations on issues covered within the National Report.
Singapore participates in the UPR process constructively as a responsible UN Member State. We look forward to continuing to engage in dialogue with fellow UN Member States and civil society organisations on how we can continue improving the lives of those in Singapore, guided by our pragmatic and outcomes-based approach to human rights.
