Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong's visit to Hong Kong, The People's Republic of China 26 to 28 March 2026.
Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong visited the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), the People’s Republic of China, from 26 to 28 March 2026. This is Prime Minister Wong’s first visit to Hong Kong in his current capacity.
Prime Minister Wong met with and was hosted to lunch by HKSAR Chief Executive John Lee. Both sides reaffirmed the breadth and depth of the bilateral relationship, with our strong economic partnership and deep people-to-people ties as the foundation. They discussed ways to expand bilateral cooperation in new and emerging areas, such as tourism, research and innovation, and youth and community engagement. Prime Minister Wong expressed confidence in Hong Kong’s continued development and prosperity. They also exchanged views on ongoing regional and global developments.
Later today, Prime Minister Wong will visit the Northern Metropolis to learn more about Hong Kong’s development priorities and explore opportunities for further collaboration. Prime Minister Wong will also meet Singaporeans residing in Hong Kong at a reception.
Prime Minister Wong will return to Singapore tomorrow.
