Your Excellency,

On behalf of the people of the Republic of Singapore, I would like to warmly congratulate you on your re-election as the President of the Russian Federation.  

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Singapore and Russia. Our two countries enjoy excellent ties, underpinned by broad-based and mutually-beneficial cooperation. I am confident that the relations between our two countries and the friendship between our peoples will continue to grow in the next 50 years and beyond.  

I take this opportunity to extend an invitation to you to make a State Visit to Singapore at a mutually convenient time.

Please accept, Your Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration.

Dear President Putin,

On behalf of the Government of the Singapore, I offer my warmest congratulations on your re-election as the President of the Russian Federation.

2018 marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Singapore and Russia. We share many common interests: Bilateral ties in areas such as trade, investment and training are growing, and we cooperate productively at international fora like the East Asia Summit (EAS), Asia-Europe Meeting, United Nations and Arctic Council. The High-Level Singapore-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission, co-chaired by two Deputy Prime Ministers, continues to play a key role in expanding cooperation. Negotiations on the Free Trade Agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and Singapore are making progress.

As Chair of ASEAN this year, Singapore will be hosting the 13th EAS in November. Russia is a valuable Dialogue Partner of ASEAN, and I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to attend the Summit.
