Presentation of Credentials Ceremony 21 July 2026

The following foreign Heads of Mission presented their credentials to President Tharman Shanmugaratnam in separate ceremonies at the Istana today:

High Commissioner Anizan Siti Hajjar Adnin is a career diplomat with more than 30 years of experience in Malaysia’s diplomatic service. Prior to being appointed as Malaysia’s High Commissioner to Singapore, she was the Deputy Secretary General of Management Services at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Malaysia.

She previously served as Malaysia’s High Commissioner to Canada, and Ambassador to the Republic of Ireland. She was also posted to the Permanent Mission of Malaysia to the United Nations in New York and the Permanent Mission of Malaysia to the United Nations Office at Geneva.

High Commissioner Siti Hajjar led various divisions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, including Southeast Asia Division, Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations, and Human Rights and Humanities Division.

High Commissioner Siti Hajjar holds a Master’s Degree in International Relations from the Schiller International University Paris, France, and Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations from the California State University, USA.

She holds the Darjah Kebesaran Dato’ Paduka Mahkota Selangor Yang Amat Mulia (D.P.M.S.) since 2021, which bestowed the title Datin Paduka.

She is married to Mr Abdul Rahim Othman.

Ambassador Dr Abdulnasser Jamal Al Shaali was appointed Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to the Republic of Singapore by Federal Decree No. 42 of 2026, dated 30 March 2026. Prior to his accreditation to Singapore, he served as Ambassador of the UAE to the Republic of India and non-resident Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bhutan. Ambassador Dr Al Shaali joined the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2013. He has served several senior appointments, including Assistant Minister for Economic and Trade Affairs, Director of the Economic and Trade Affairs Department, and Director of the Policy Planning Department.

Ambassador Dr Al Shaali holds a PhD in Economics from the Australian National University, a Master’s in Business Management from Paris Sorbonne University, a Master of Business Administration from Murdoch University, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the American University of Sharjah. Ambassador Dr Al Shaali was awarded the President’s First Class Order of Zayed II in 2025. He is married and has three children.
