Official Visit of Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye Hakan Fidan, 1-2 June 2026

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye Hakan Fidan is on an Official Visit to Singapore from 1 to 2 June.

Minister Fidan made a courtesy call on Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong on 2 June 2026. They reaffirmed the strong and longstanding bilateral relations. Prime Minister Wong welcomed Türkiye’s intent to increase cooperation with Singapore and the region, including ASEAN. Prime Minister Wong and Minister Fidan also exchanged views on international developments.

Minister Fidan met and was hosted to lunch by Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan. They took stock of the growing bilateral account and discussed ways to deepen cooperation across various sectors, including in trade, investment, innovation, food security and renewable energy. Both Ministers reaffirmed the importance of region-to-region cooperation, with Minister Balakrishnan expressing support for Türkiye deepening its engagement of ASEAN. They also exchanged views on regional and global developments.

Minister Fidan also met Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs K Shanmugam. The Ministers discussed international and regional developments, and reaffirmed the importance of upholding multilateralism.
