Official Visit by His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office of Brunei Darussalam, 28 September to 2 October 2026

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office of Brunei Darussalam, is in Singapore for the 12^th Singapore-Brunei Young Leaders’ Programme (YLP).

Since its launch in 2013, the YLP has fostered close personal ties between successive generations of leaders from Singapore and Brunei. His Royal Highness was hosted to tea by President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, met Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong, and was hosted to lunch by Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong earlier today. They had wide-ranging discussions on global developments of common interest to Singapore and Brunei, and exchanged views on further deepening bilateral cooperation in areas of shared interest which can create opportunities for our businesses and peoples. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the special relationship between Singapore and Brunei, particularly as both sides commemorate the 60^th anniversary of the Currency Interchangeability Agreement in 2027. His Royal Highness also visited Tuas Port yesterday.

In the coming days, His Royal Highness will visit the Singapore Oceanarium and be hosted to dinner by Prime Minister Wong. His Royal Highness will also visit SAFTI City, Temasek Shophouse, the SingHealth Duke-NUS Institute of Biodiversity Medicine, Sultan Mosque, the Malay Heritage Centre, Punggol Digital District, and the Singapore Institute of Technology.

On the sidelines of the YLP, both countries signed a Memorandum of Understanding to further cooperation on maritime and port development.
