In response to media queries on a report which appeared in The Nation (2 July 2007) indicating that the ASEAN-US Commemorative Summit to be held in Singapore in September 2007 has been cancelled, the MFA Spokesman said that US officials have informed Singapore that the proposed date of 5 September 2007 is not convenient. As Country Coordinator for the ASEAN-US Dialogue, Singapore is consulting the other ASEAN countries and will explore alternative dates with the US.
