MFA SPOKESMAN'S COMMENTS
In response to media queries, the MFA Spokesman said:
"As stated on 30 May, we have not been formally contacted by the Chinese authorities about Mr Ching Cheong's case. We understand his arrest is on a matter that is not related to the Singapore Government. Meanwhile, the Singapore Embassy in Beijing has approached the Chinese side to enquire into the welfare of Mr Ching Cheong. "
