In response to press queries about a boat which capsized in Bangkok this morning, the following can be attributed to an MFA spokesman:

"The Singapore Embassy is in close touch with the Thai authorities. There were eight people on board the capsized boat, including one Thai boatman and one Thai tour guide. Two Singaporeans have been rescued and sent to a hospital. The Embassy is working with the Thai authorities to ascertain if there are any other Singaporeans among those still missing."
