In response to queries from the media on an article in the Malaysian newspaper The Sun titled "Singapore agrees to new bridge" on 2 March 2005, the MFA Spokesman said:

"The report is not an accurate reflection of what transpired at the meeting between Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi and Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong on 1 March 2005. Singapore does not want to go into the details of the meeting because, as both Singapore and Malaysia have agreed, it would not be helpful at this juncture to publicise the details of the discussion".
