In response to media queries on the agreement reached between the P5+1 and Iran in Geneva on 24 November 2013, the MFA Spokesman said:
"We welcome this significant development. It is a first but important step. We hope that this will lead to a comprehensive agreement that will fully address the international community’s concerns over the nature of Iran’s nuclear programme. In this regard, we also welcome the signing of the Joint Statement on a Framework for Cooperation between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency on 11 November 2013. An early resolution of all outstanding issues is in the interest of Iran, its immediate region and the international community."
