In response to media queries relating to the boat that capsized en route from Sibu to Mersing in Malaysia, the MFA Spokesman said: "Indonesian authorities have informed us that they have recovered the body of a male Chinese in Bintan. The body was recovered together with a bag containing two Singapore passports bearing the names of Mr Ng Kian Teck and Mdm Chua Poh Lit. The family of Mr Ng has been informed of this development. They will travel to Bintan. An officer from our Consulate in Batam will travel to Bintan to assist with the arrangements."
