The tensions in Bahrain have escalated over the past few days. We reiterate our advice urging Singaporeans to defer non-essential travel to Bahrain at this time. Singaporeans already in Bahrain are urged to avoid unnecessary travel within the country, in particular to avoid the areas where demonstrations are occurring. They should be on high alert and monitor the news closely and keep in close touch with the Singapore Embassy in Riyadh, which has been closely monitoring the situation.
