In response to media queries on the attack at the US Embassy in Ankara, Turkey on 1 February 2013, the MFA Spokesman said:

"Singapore strongly condemns the attack at the US Embassy in Ankara, Turkey. Our thoughts are with the friends and families of the victims. The attack is a stark reminder that terrorism remains a serious threat and all countries must remain vigilant and resolute in combating terrorism. Singapore stands in solidarity with Turkey and the US against all acts of terrorism."
