In response to media queries on the agreement between the United States and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on the implementation of a moratorium on long-range missile launches, nuclear tests and nuclear activities at Yongbyon, including uranium enrichment activities, as well as the provision of nutritional assistance to the DPRK, the MFA Spokesman said:

"We welcome this development as an important first step towards the resolution of long standing issues that are of serious concern to the entire region. The ultimate goal should be a DPRK that is fully integrated with the region and which shares its growth and prosperity."
