In response to media queries on an incident of unrest in Batam, the MFA Spokesman said:
"MFA and our Consulate in Batam are closely monitoring the situation. As at 1800 hours today (Singapore time), there are no reports of Singaporeans having been affected by the incident. We will continue to be in touch with Singaporeans in Batam and render them any necessary consular assistance."
