"We were shocked to learn of the bomb explosions in Yangon on 15 April 2010. We condemn this act of violence on the eve of the Myanmar New Year which has killed and injured numerous innocent civilians.We extend our sympathies to the families of the victims.

As at 1100 hours (Singapore time) today, the Myanmar authorities have informed our Embassy in Yangon that there were no Singaporeans among the casualties.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and our Embassy in Yangon continue to closely monitor the situation. "
