MFA SPOKESMAN'S COMMENTS
In response to press queries, MFA spokesman said the following:
"Good Sino-US relations are vital to the stability and prosperity of the Asia-Pacific region. What has happened is most unfortunate. We hope that the US and China will be able to resolve the problem as soon as possible."
In response to queries on the New York Times article by David Sangar, MFA Spokesman said:
"Singapore has not been approached. In any case, it is clear that both the US and China are in direct communication with each other."
