In response to media queries on the recent bombings in Morocco and Algeria, the MFA Spokesman said:
"Singapore strongly condemns the bomb attacks that took place on 11 April 2007 in Algiers, Algeria. These wanton acts of violence have killed and injured civilians and members of the security services. We extend our deepest condolences to the families of the victims.
We also note with deep concern the attempted terrorist acts in Casablanca, Morocco, which the Moroccan security forces were able to forestall.
Singapore stands with the international community to support the continued efforts of Algeria and Morocco to combat the scourge of terrorism."
