MFA Press Statement: Working Visit by Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan to Washington DC and New York, United States of America, 4 to 8 June 2017

                Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan met with Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee Senator John McCain (R-Arizona), Co-Chair of the ASEAN Congressional Caucus Congressman Joaquin Castro (D-Texas) and Deputy National Security Advisor for Strategy Dina Powell on 7 June 2017, the final day of his visit to Washington DC. 

                They exchanged views on regional and international developments and affirmed the strong and broad-based bilateral relationship that is mutually beneficial to Singapore and the US.  Senator McCain and Deputy National Security Advisor Powell also expressed the US' commitment to remain actively engaged in the region and to continue to play a constructive role in promoting regional peace and stability.
