Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Home Affairs Masagos Zulkifli will visit Sarawak, Malaysia from 13 to 15 January 2013, and Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam, from 15 to 18 January 2013.

In Sarawak, SMS Masagos is scheduled to call on the Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Sarawak, Tun Datuk Patinggi Abang Haji Muhammad Salahuddin bin Abang Barieng, and the Speaker of the Sarawak State Assembly Datuk Amar Haji Mohamad Asfia bin Awang Nassar. SMS Masagos will also meet Malaysian Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water Dato’ Sri Peter Chin, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Datuk Richard Riot, and members of the Sarawak State government.

Thereafter, SMS Masagos will travel to Brunei Darussalam to learn about Brunei’s drug rehabilitation programme. SMS Masagos is also scheduled to meet Minister of Home Affairs Pehin Badaruddin Othman, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade II Pehin Lim Jock Seng, Minister of Energy at the Prime Minister’s Office Pehin Yasmin Umar and other senior officials.

During his visits to Malaysia and Brunei, SMS Masagos will reaffirm Singapore’s strong relations with both countries and explore new areas of cooperation. SMS Masagos will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Home Affairs.
