        Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office and the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth Mr Sam Tan will visit Norway from 18 to 22 January 2015.  In Tromsø, Mr Tan will deliver an address at Session I of the 9th Arctic Frontiers conference on 19 January 2015.  Mr Tan will have meetings with Arctic interlocutors, including with Norwegian Minister for Foreign Affairs Mr Børge Brende and United States Special Representative for the Arctic Admiral Robert J. Papp Jr., on the sidelines of the conference.  

        Mr Tan will also visit the Sami Parliament in Karasjok on 20 January 2015, before proceeding to Oslo for a bilateral meeting with the Norwegian Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mr Wegger Christian Strømmen on 21 January 2015.   

        Arctic Frontiers is an annual, international arena for the discussion of Arctic issues.  The Arctic Frontiers 2014 was attended by over 1,400 participants from 31 countries as well as 102 journalists from 54 countries.  This is the first time that Singapore is attending the Arctic Frontiers conference. 

        Mr Tan will be accompanied by Member of Parliament Mr David Ong Kim Huat and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
