                   Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan is on a working visit to Sabah, Malaysia from 1 to 3 April 2016.

                   Today, Malaysian Minister of Foreign Affairs Dato’ Sri Anifah Haji Aman hosted Minister Balakrishnan to lunch.  The Ministers reaffirmed the close bilateral relations between Singapore and Malaysia, and had a fruitful exchange of views on regional developments. 

                   Minister Balakrishnan called on Chief Minister of Sabah Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Haji Aman and other Sabahan Ministers earlier today and yesterday.  They reaffirmed the longstanding ties between Singapore and Sabah, and agreed that both sides should continue to explore new opportunities for collaboration.

                   This evening, Minister Balakrishnan will host a reception to express the Singapore Government’s appreciation to the Malaysian Government, Sabah State Government as well as local Sabahans for the help rendered in the aftermath of the Sabah earthquake.  Dato’ Sri Anifah and Sabahan dignitaries will also grace the reception.
