The Brazilian Senator and Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations and National Defence Committees, HE Heraclito Fortes, is in Singapore for a working visit from 20-21 March 2008. Senator Fortes is leading a delegation comprising Senators Antonio Carlos Valadare, Geraldo Mesquita Junior, and Adelmir Santana.

The Senators met Deputy Speaker of Parliament Matthias Yao and other Members of Parliament (MPs), and visited Parliament House today. Minister for Foreign Affairs George Yeo also hosted the delegation to dinner, which included MP for Holland-Bukit Timah Group Representative Constituency (GRC) Mr Christopher de Souza, and members of the Eurasian Association. Bilateral relations and regional developments were among the matters discussed between Minister Yeo and the Brazilian Senators.
