Deputy Prime Minister of Hungary Dr Zsolt Semjén is visiting Singapore from 1 to 3 May 2013. Dr Semjén is accompanied by Deputy Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly Mr János Latorcai.
Dr Semjén called on President Tony Tan Keng Yam on 2 May 2013. President Tan and Dr Semjén discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations, particularly through cooperation in education, and research and development. President Tan also sought Dr Semjén's views on developments in Europe, andHungary's support for the EU-Singapore Free Trade Agreement (EUSFTA).
Dr Semjén also met with and was hosted to lunch by Deputy Speaker of Parliament Mr Charles Chong this afternoon. He will depart Singapore tomorrow morning.
