        Senior Minister of State (SMS), Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr Maliki Osman will visit the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela from 17 to 18 September 2016 to attend the XVII Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit of Heads of State and Government, as Special Envoy of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

          The theme of the XVII NAM Summit is “Peace, Sovereignty and Solidarity for Development”.  Member States will discuss issues of global concern such as the threat posed by violent extremism and terrorism, and the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.  Member States will also reaffirm their commitment to work together to address the challenges facing the NAM.

      SMS Maliki will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
