His Excellency Kasit Piromya, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, visited Singapore on 21 March 2011 and met with Minister for Foreign Affairs George Yeo who hosted a working dinner for Foreign Minister Kasit and his accompanying officials. The two Foreign Ministers discussed regional and international issues.

During their meeting, Foreign Minister Kasit informed Minister Yeo that Thailand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs would be pleased to assist Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs if there are Singaporeans in the Middle East and other countries who require urgent consular assistance. Thailand's diplomatic missions can be helpful to Singaporeans, particularly in places where we do not have a diplomatic presence. Minister Yeo thanked Foreign Minister Kasit and welcomed this gracious offer, saying that we would take it up, if necessary. Minister Yeo said that the offer was in keeping with the spirit of ASEAN neighbourliness.
