Chairperson of the Lower House Committee for Rule of Law, Peace and Tranquility in the Myanmar Parliament and Chairperson of the National League for Democracy Daw Aung San Suu Kyi called on Minister, Prime Minister’s Office, Second Minister for the Environment and Water Resources, and Second Minister for Foreign Affairs Grace Fu at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today.

Minister Grace Fu reaffirmed the long-standing friendship between Singapore and Myanmar, and conveyed our continued commitment to support Myanmar’s economic and social development. Minister Grace Fu and Daw Aung San Suu Kyi exchanged views on domestic developments in Myanmar. Daw Aung San Suu Kyi shared with Minister Grace Fu her work as a Member of Parliament and her thoughts on the challenges faced by the Myanmar people in this critical period of transition.

Daw Aung San Suu Kyi also received a briefing from the Singapore Economic Development Board on its role in creating a conducive business environment to attract foreign investments into Singapore. This evening, she will attend the Singapore Summit Welcome Dinner, where Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will deliver the Summit Keynote Address.
