MFA Press Statement: Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Zainul Abidin Rasheed calls on the Governor of Dhofar, Sultanate of Oman, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammad Al Maamri, 17 February 2010

Senior Minister of State Zainul Abidin Rasheed called on the Governor of Dhofar, Sultanate of Oman, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammad Al Maamri on 17 February 2010.

SMS Zainul exchanged views with Sheikh Mohammad on bilateral relations. Both are encouraged by recent increase in trade and investment activities between Singapore and Oman. SMS Zainul and Sheikh Mohammad both noted that Singapore companies are increasing their investment in Oman. SembCorp, for example, recently invested in a US$1 billion independent water and power project in the city of Salalah in Dhofar. Sheikh Mohammad expressed the hope that more Singapore companies will invest in Oman.

SMS Zainul is in Oman to attend the Send-Off Ceremony of the "Jewel of Muscat".
