Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr Balaji Sadasivan underwent surgery on 23 September 2008 at Gleneagles Hospital to remove a cancerous tumour located in the right colon.
He will be discharged from the hospital on 30 September 2008 and will be on medical leave for a month.
