Prime Minister of Vietnam, His Excellency Nguyen Tan Dung met with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at the sidelines of the 15th ASEAN Summit in Cha-am Hua Hin on 23 October 2009.
The Prime Ministers had a good exchange of views on regional and international developments as well as bilateral relations. PM Dung and PM Lee welcomed the strengthening of our bilateral defence relations with the signing of the Defence Cooperation Agreement in September 2009. Both sides also reaffirmed our two countries' close economic cooperation under the Singapore-Vietnam Connectivity Framework Agreement. PM Lee also looked forward to welcome President of Vietnam Nguyen Minh Triet's State Visit to Singapore, currently scheduled from 16-17 November 2009. PM Dung and PM Lee also discussed ASEAN matters, including Vietnam's upcoming ASEAN Chairmanship in 2010.
