Please accept my warmest congratulations on your decisive win at the Presidential elections on 17 April 2012 . Your victory is a strong mandate from the people of Timor-Leste and demonstrates the confidence they have in your leadership.

Singapore and Timor-Leste enjoy excellent bilateral relations at both the political and official levels . Our people-to-people ties are also strong and there are around 300 Singaporeans present in your country today. I wish you well and look forward to working with you to further our bilateral ties and strengthening the friendship and goodwill between our two countries.
