Dear President Rajoy,
I was deeply saddened to learn of the train accident just outside your hometown Santiago de Compostela yesterday.
On behalf of the Government and the people of Singapore, I offer my deepest condolences on this tragedy. I wish you every success in your ongoing rescue efforts. I am confident that the Kingdom of Spain will be able to overcome this disaster with fortitude and resilience.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims and the people of Spain during this period of grief.
