Australian Foreign Minister Stephen Smith called on Minister for Foreign Affairs George Yeo at the Shangri-La Hotel on 22 July 2008. During the call, Minister Yeo and Minister Smith reaffirmed the strength of bilateral relations. Both Ministers also exchanged views on a range of issues including the recent developments in ASEAN as well as the framework for regional cooperation and agreed to work together to further strengthen cooperation.

Minister Smith is in Singapore to attend meetings held in conjunction with the ASEAN Ministerial Meeting including the 15th ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) from 22-24 July 2008.
