Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong met with President of the Republic of Korea Lee Myung-bak this evening. During the meeting, PM Lee and President Lee agreed on the importance of using international fora like APEC and G20 to promote the free trade agenda and resist protectionist pressures. The two leaders affirmed the excellent state of bilateral relations between Singapore and the Republic of Korea and, in particular, expressed satisfaction at the progress made on the establishment of a Korean Cultural Centre in Singapore, an initiative raised by PM Lee during his visit to the Republic of Korea in June 2009.
