Minister for Foreign Affairs George Yeo met Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice at the sidelines of the 39th AMM/PMC/13th ARF on 28 July 2006. They exchanged views on how to stop the cycle of violence in the Middle East and the need for the Democratic People's Republic of Korea to return to the six-party talks. They also discussed developments in ASEAN and the East Asia Summit, and preparations for the 30th Anniversary of ASEAN-US Dialogue Relations next year under Singapore's Chairmanship of ASEAN.
