Minister for Foreign Affairs George Yeo met European Union High Representative for Common Foreign and Security Policy Javier Solana at the sidelines of the 39th AMM/PMC/13th ARF on 28 July 2006. They discussed the development of EU-ASEAN relations, the upcoming 30th Anniversary of the relationship, the importance of a stronger long-term European presence in Southeast Asia, and the role that the EU can play in contributing to ASEAN Integration. They also reviewed broad developments in Asia and ASEAN's role in facilitating dialogue in the region.
