The Government has appointed Mr R. Jayachandran as Singapore's High Commissioner to the Republic of Mauritius. He will be resident in Singapore.
Mr Jayachandran is currently the Non-Executive Director of Kewalram Singapore Ltd, Non-Executive Chairman of Olam International Ltd, Executive Chairman of Aquarius Investment Advisors Pte Ltd and one of the Founders and a Director of Redington Group of Companies.
Mr Jayachandran is also a Group Board Member of the transnational Kewalram Chanrai Group which has diversified interests in about 52 countries in Asia, Africa, Europe and Americas. He holds directorships in many companies in Singapore, India and a few other countries.
Mr Jayachandran graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Madras and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1968. He is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore since 1989. He is an Alumni of Harvard Business School.
Mr Jayachandran is married to Dr Harilakshmi Jayachandran.

BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY

Mr Jayachandran was born on 24 April 1944 in India. He graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Madras in 1964 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1968. He is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore since 1989. He attended the Advanced Management Programme at the Harvard Business School in 1995.
Mr Jayachandran is married to Dr Harilakshmi Jayachandran.
