Singapore welcomes the transfer of power to the Interim Government of Iraq. This is an important step towards full assumption of sovereignty and self-determination by the Iraqi people. We hope that the international community will continue working closely with the Interim Government of Iraq to restore stability and security, which are necessary pre-conditions for the reconstruction of Iraq.
