MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS PRESS STATEMENT
President S R Nathan has written a letter of condolence to Mr Kim Jong-il, Chairman of the National Defence Commission, Democratic People's Republic of Korea regarding the railway accident in North Korea on 22 April. A copy of his letter is attached. The Government of the Republic of Singapore will contribute US$50,000 to initiate a public appeal for humanitarian assistance by the Singapore Red Cross Society.
