MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS PRESS STATEMENT
INTRODUCTION OF FIVE-DAY WORKWEEK
In line with Government's policy to introduce a five-day workweek in the Civil Service to enable civil servants to strike a better work-life balance, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will implement the following working hours for its staff with effect from 1 September 2004:
Mondays to Thursdays: 8:30am - 6:00pm
Fridays: 8:30am - 5:30pm
Existing opening hours for services to the public at the Consular Service counter will remain unchanged. These are:
Mondays to Fridays: 9: 00am - 12:30pm; 2:30 - 4:30pm
Saturdays: 9:00 am - 12:30pm.
Singaporeans in distress overseas can continue to contact their nearest Singapore High Commission, Embassy or Consulate, or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs HQ Duty Officer at 6379 8800 (24 Hrs).
