PM Lee sent a condolence message to President Obama on the Sandy Hook shooting.
16 December 2012
Dear President Obama,
I was deeply shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic shooting
at Sandy Hook Elementary School. On behalf of the Government and people of Singapore, I offer my sincere condolences to you, the victims’ families and
all Americans on this terrible tragedy. An event like this reminds us of our common humanity, regardless of nationality or where we live in the world.
This was a senseless loss of innocent young lives, especially since schools should be sanctuaries for our children. I wish you success in your efforts to prevent such tragedies from recurring in the future.
Our thoughts are with the victims’ families and all Americans during this difficult time.
Yours sincerely,
Lee Hsien Loong
The Honourable Barack Obama
President
United States of America
