Dear Puan Sri Shamsiah Md Hashim,
My wife and I convey our deepest condolences to you and your
family on the passing away of Noordin. When I last saw him at Mount
Elizabeth Hospital a few weeks ago, he was alert and in good spirits. Your
son was there to help him and cheer him up. I have known Noordin for
many years. He was not only brilliant and an outstanding Malaysian, he
was always able to put forward his views in a most charming way with a
wonderful self-deprecatory sense of humour. He fought his illness to the
last, never giving up hope and the joy of living. We shall miss him.
GEORGE YEO
