President Halimah Yacob and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong have written to President Joko Widodo of the Republic of Indonesia, to convey their condolences on the crash of Lion Air flight JT610 in Indonesia on 29 October 2018. Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan has also written to Indonesian Minister for Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi to express his sympathies.

          I was deeply saddened to hear of the tragic crash of Lion Air flight JT610 on 29 October 2018. On behalf of the people of Singapore, I extend my heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families and the people of Indonesia.  

          Our thoughts are with the families of the victims. Singapore stands ready to offer any assistance to the search and recovery efforts.

          Our thoughts are with the people of Indonesia during this time of sorrow. Singapore is ready to assist with the ongoing search and recovery efforts if required by Indonesia.
