His Excellency Francois Bayrou
French Republic
Your Excellency,
I convey my best wishes as you end your tenure as Prime Minister of the French Republic.
Relations between Singapore and France attained new heights during your tenure. In conjunction with the 60th anniversary of the establishment of our diplomatic relations, we upgraded our ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP), during President Emmanuel Macron's State Visit to Singapore in May. France is the first and only European country with which we have a CSP, which sets out an ambitious and forward-looking framework for cooperation in new areas like cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. I am confident that bilateral ties will continue to deepen as we work towards implementing the projects and agreements under the CSP.
Thank you for your support for the strengthening of the Singapore-France partnership. I wish you good health and every success in your future endeavours.
Yours sincerely,
Lawrence Wong

His Excellency Sebastien Lecornu
Prime Minister
French Republic
Dear Prime Minister Lecornu,
I convey my warmest congratulations on your appointment as Prime Minister of the French Republic. It was a pleasure to have met you during President Emmanuel Macron's State Visit to Singapore in May this year.
Singapore and France share a close and longstanding friendship. France was among the first countries to establish diplomatic relations with Singapore following our independence in 1965. Over the years, we have established substantive cooperation in a wide range of areas, including defence and security, trade and investments, research, and sustainability and the green transition. Our strong defence partnership is one key element of our relations. The Republic of Singapore Air Force's Advanced Jet Training in Cazaux Air Base, now in its 27th year, is testament to the level of trust between our countries.
We upgraded our relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) this May, in conjunction with the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations. France is the first and only European country with which we have a CSP. The CSP sets out an ambitious and forward-looking framework for cooperation in new areas like cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. Singapore also welcomes France's continued engagement of the Indo-Pacific region, especially amidst the evolving global geopolitical situation.
I look forward to working closely with you to strengthen the ties between our countries. I wish you good health and every success in your new appointment, and look forward to meeting you again soon.
Yours sincerely,
Lawrence Wong
