Joint Statement between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Singapore and the Ministry of External Relations of the Republic of Peru, 12 September 2013

Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Law K Shanmugam met with Peruvian Foreign Minister Eda Rivas at the Torre Tagle Palace on 12 September 2013.  Both Ministers reaffirmed the warm relations and explored new areas of cooperation between Peru and Singapore. They also endorsed the strong multilateral cooperation in APEC, the Trans-Pacific Partnership, the Global Governance Group (3G), and Forum for East Asia-Latin America Cooperation (FEALAC) between Peru and Singapore.

During the lunch hosted by Minister Rivas which was attended by Minister of Economy and Finance Miguel Castilla as well as Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism Magali Silva, the Ministers continued their discussion on ways to strengthen cooperation and expressed commitment for an early signing of the Air Services Agreement and the expeditious restart and conclusion of the negotiations on an Agreement for the Avoidance of Double Taxation.  They also explored opportunities to increase trade, investment and tourism flows between the two countries.
