"Singapore supports the work of the UNHCR. Singapore and the UNHCR have good working relations, as demonstrated most recently by the repatriation and resettlement of the Vietnamese boat people who had been housed at the Hawkin's Road Camp between 1990 and 1996. We are pleased that she is able to come to Singapore and to give her views on the work of the UNHCR in dealing with the worldwide refugee problem.
