The Government has appointed Mr Jonathan Tow Shen Han as Singapore’s Ambassador to the Republic of Turkey,  Mr Tan Hung Seng as Singapore’s Permanent Representative to the World Trade Organisation (WTO) in Geneva, Ms Kok Li Peng as Singapore’s Permanent Representative to ASEAN in Jakarta, and Mr Roland Ng San Tiong as Singapore’s Non-Resident Ambassador to the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste.

Mr Jonathan Tow joined the Singapore Civil Service in 1996 and has held various appointments in the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He served at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Singapore to the United Nations in New York from 2007 to 2010 and at the High Commission of the Republic of Singapore to India in New Delhi from 2011 to 2014. Mr Tow was Director-General of the South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa Directorate in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2014 to 2018.

Mr Tow graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in History in 1996. In 2005, he obtained a Masters of Arts (Honours) in Security Studies from Georgetown University on a Fulbright Scholarship. Mr Tow is married to Ms Chua Chew Szee and they have one son.

Mr Tan Hung Seng joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1990, and served as Singapore’s Permanent Representative to ASEAN from August 2013 to January 2019, and Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt, with concurrent accreditation to Libya, from July 2009 to July 2013. He was also concurrently accredited as Ambassador to the State of Kuwait until October 2012.  Mr Tan’s other overseas postings included Embassy of the Republic of Singapore to Thailand in Bangkok, where he was Deputy Chief of Mission/Counsellor from 1999 to 2003; and two stints in Embassy of the Republic of Singapore to the Arab Republic of Egypt in Cairo as Deputy Chief of Mission from 2003 to 2005, and First Secretary from 1992 to 1995.

Mr Tan graduated from the National University of Singapore and did post-graduate studies at the University of London, School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), under the Raffles/Chevening Scholarship. He was awarded the Public Administration Medal (Silver) in 2011 and the Long Service Medal in 2013. Mr Tan is married to Mrs Kayo Suzuki-Tan and they have two daughters.

A career diplomat, Ms Kok Li Peng joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1995. She served as Ambassador in Manila from March 2015 to December 2018. Prior to that, she was Director-General of the ASEAN Directorate from 2012 to 2015. Ms Kok was Deputy Permanent Representative and Counsellor in the Permanent Mission of Singapore to the United Nations in New York from 2008 to 2012, and First Secretary in the Embassy of the Republic of Singapore in Washington D.C from 1999 to 2002.

Ms Kok graduated with a Bachelor of Laws, Second Class Honours, from the National University of Singapore in 1994.  She obtained a Masters in Arts (Political Science) from Columbia University in 2006, on a Fulbright Scholarship.

Mr Roland Ng San Tiong is the Managing Director and Group CEO of Tat Hong Holdings Ltd. He was elected President of the 60th Council of the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry in 2019 and holds directorships in its subsidiaries, namely, The Financial Board of the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Chinese Chamber Realty Private Limited, and Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce Foundation.

Mr Ng is the Vice Chairman of the China & North Asia Business Group of Singapore Business Federation. He is also a Member of the Board of Trustees of Chinese Development Assistance Council, Board of Directors of Business China, and Advisory Council on Community Relations in Defence.


Mr Ng graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) from University of Technology Loughborough, United Kingdom in 1976.
