On behalf of the people of the Republic of Singapore, I would like to extend my warmest congratulations on your successful re-election as President of the Republic of Turkey. The people of Turkey have given you a strong mandate under the new Executive Presidency system as a reaffirmation of their confidence in your leadership.  

Turkey and Singapore enjoy warm and growing ties. Next year will mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our two countries. This is a joyous occasion for both countries to commemorate and celebrate.  

I wish Your Excellency continued good health and success, and look forward to working closely with you to deepen the ties between Singapore and Turkey. I would also like to take this opportunity to invite you to make a State Visit to Singapore at a mutually convenient time.

Dear President Erdoğan,

On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Singapore, I would like to extend my warmest congratulations on your re-election as President of the Republic of Turkey. You have received a strong mandate to serve as the country’s first Executive President. 

Singapore and Turkey share a Strategic Partnership underpinned by strong political and economic ties. We enjoy close cooperation in the aviation, maritime, science and technology, and education sectors. Our people-to-people ties are also growing. The entry into force of the Turkey-Singapore Free Trade Agreement in 2017 will further strengthen our cooperation. 2019 will be an important milestone as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of our diplomatic relations. Singapore is also committed to supporting Turkey in its efforts to engage ASEAN as a Sectoral Dialogue Partner.

I look forward to continuing to work with you and your government to enhance our bilateral partnership. I wish you every success in your term of office.
