His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd)
Governor-General
Commonwealth of Australia
Your Excellency,
On behalf of the people of Singapore, I would like to express my warmest wishes to you and the people of Australia on the occasion of Australia Day.
Singapore and Australia share excellent relations, underpinned by strong historical ties and multi-faceted cooperation. The Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between our two countries has deepened significantly over the years, and has forged strong links in education, arts and culture, youth and sports cooperation. I am confident that this robust relationship between our two countries will continue to strengthen to the benefit of our peoples.
Singapore will keep Australia and the communities affected by the recent bushfires in our thoughts.
My husband and I wish you and Mrs Hurley good health and happiness.
Yours sincerely,
HALIMAH YACOB
